Oswald Chambers cultivated something intangible with his Creator. Many today marginalize any association with God, or Jesus Christ. In fact, most in our society run the other way, choosing the tethered life in this electronic age, dwelling in brain fog and connectedness with others. Blase Pascal had it pegged long long ago - "most of humanities problems stem from a man's inability to sit quietly in a room, alone." And, I'd add, "in silence." This book, written and compiled by Oswald's wife, Biddy, will touch your heart, if you set still long enough to heed Pascal's observation. Maybe then the God behind the deep water words in this book, becomes real to the reader & a whole new and unspeakably touching landscape unfolds before the eyes that drink in what he, Oswald saw. My the God described in this book move your heart into uncharted waters, as He did mine.

I highly recommend it to be presented with The Holy Bible to new Christians in Christ and also a great Gift to others to encourage in their Faith with Jesus Christ. Oswald Chambers helps to bring Christians old and young to a deeper understanding of God's Love and Word through daily devotions. The subjects addressed are very relevant today with scripture help bring out an understanding of God's Heart and his will for us in this corrupt world. It also help young Christians to establish great foundations to continue to trust in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. For married couples it helps Husbands to bring their Wives to the table of the Lord to nourish them in God's word and through Prayer. And this in turn brings Strength to the marriage in Christ Jesus. Praise God for this Mighty man of Jesus Christ and his wife for sharing these personal daily devotions through this book to encourage all whom read it.

My Utmost For His Highest is a cut above any other devotional that I have ever read. Perhaps that is due partly in that the author never even knew that a devotional was what may come of his writings. His faith was tried in the trenches of life and his teachings an overflow of that life. That place where real, raw, faith is needed. Not theoretically, not to sell a book, but that dark secret place where God meets us and His life becomes our own. Those things will preach; as they say, and what it speaks to the reader is "Christ and Him crucified" the essence of our being made disciples. "Feed My sheep" Jesus told Peter. And His words beg the question, feed them what? What the Master gives, feed them that. Oswald feeds us that, and it is rich. And now, as I read, I hear The Lord's voice quietly say to me; What type of devotional is my life writing?

My utmost is my daily reading apart from my bible. It is bought for a gift and it is in very good condition. I am very happy with my purchase. Thank you Sincerely Heather
